Seaside Dreams children’s blanket

Seaside Dreams children’s blanket (Free pattern)

I created this pattern purely by accident while awaiting for my next yarn delivery. I had some yarn left from a different project, and I love colour changing yarns maybe a bit too much. There wasn’t enough of the blue ish yarn however, so I improvised to get the blanket to the right size.

Materials I used:

  • YarnSmiths ‘Play’ Chunky in Splash x3
  • YarnSmiths ‘Create’ Chunky in Antique Gold x1
  • YarnSmiths ‘Create’ Chunky in Mustard Yellow x1

Possible substitute:

  • Stylecraft Merry Go Round Chunky in Denim x4
  • Stylecraft Special Chunky in Gold x1
  • Stylecraft Special Chunky in Mustard x1

Hook 6mm

Tapestry needle

Small amounts of

Any Red yarn and any Beige yarn for Starfish and Shell appliqués, and a hook for the yarn weight of choice.

I used DK yarn and a 4mm hook.

Finished size of the blanket approx. 75cm x 85cm
